This place is amazing. Harriet and Martin are so welcoming and even helped us arrange an extra night when our plans suddenly changed. The cottage was comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful. We loved having coffee with the chickens (and a duck) outside the patio and it was the perfect place to rest after several long days of travel. When we very tured out again, the Wicklow Mountains were at our doorstep and we had an amazing day exploring. It was very hard to leave!
Stayed for 3 nights in April…. warm, welcoming. Everything you need . We’d definitely book again.
Had a great stay the the old rectory. Perfect base for a walking break.
The host Harriet couldn’t have been more helpful. Accommodation is clean and in a beautiful and peaceful location.
We’ll be back next time we are in Wicklow.
Harriet and Martin are really lovely Hosts and went above and beyond during our stay, although we didn’t need much. Our little flat was great and had everything we needed incl. a very well equipped kitchen. Be aware that the location is very rural, which is exactly what I was looking for. So if you love that you will like this little gem as much as we did. Thank you for everything and hopefully see you again next time we’re in Ireland.
Quiet location on a very well kept property, 1hour max from many activities (visit to Dublin and Howth peninsula, Brittas Bay beach, Treetop walk, old Wicklow prison, Glendalough lake, brands village in Kildare or Kilkenny castle and town…) If needed, Harriet and Martin respond to your requests!
What a wonderful find, we stayed here for a wedding in the area and it was such a nice setting. Really friendly hosts, beautiful property and in the middle of Wicklow. A gem of a stay!
Myself and my husband absolutely love to stay here. I cant recommend it enough. Harriet and Martin treat us like we are family.
My wife and I (newly weds) decided to make this our first stay of our honeymoon in Ireland and within the first meeting of the couple that own it I was beyond happy and excited to stay. The cottages are wonderful, but the nature of the grounds is beyond compare. All I could hear laying in bed after our long day of travel (we came from Canada) was the gentle rain and subtle chirping of the birds. We opened the door to a lovely note congratulating us our marriage along with a freshly home baked fruitcake and a wonderful bottle of sparkling wine. This place is truly beyond beautiful and I wholeheartedly suggest that if you plan on visiting Ireland that you make a stop here and spend some time
What a wonderful and peaceful place to stay. Harriet and Martin were lovely and very easy to talk to. They were helpful and were always available to give advice about the area. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I highly recommend if you are going to be in the area.
A fantastic place to stay! Adults and children had a brilliant time. Lovely accomodation, friendly hosts ( Axel and chickens included
) & the great outdoors. Thanks so much Harriet & Martin. We will return ![]()
